Scholarship for high school seniors girls

Covid didn't stop scholarship awards of $6,500 in 2022!

At the May 12, 2023 club meeting, Ellie Durgarian received official scholarships documentation from chairman Leese Pohl for three GFWC scholarships totaling $6,500; $1,500 from the local club, $4,000 from GFWC-Washington State, and $1,000 from the GFWC-WS Kathy Estep Memorial fund. GFWC-Washington State has been awarding scholarships since the 1907-1909 administration.

Get ready for Scholarship 2025

It has been announced by GFWC-Battle Ground that there will be at least $1,500 in scholarship money awarded in the spring of 2024. Plans are in progress for the Ladybug Bazaar to resume in the fall.  The bazaar is the primary fundraiser for most projects the club undertakes, including scholarships. If the bazaar is as successful as it has been in the past, the amount of the scholarship might be increased. Stay tuned!

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs of Battle Ground will award at least one (1) scholarship next spring.  This scholarship is offered to a graduating woman from the Battle Ground area.  The scholarship recipient must plan on attending an institute of higher learning in Washington State.  Grade point average, financial need, and community service involvement will be part of the selection process.

The applications must be postmarked by February 1, 2025.

The winner will receive a scholarship from GFWC-Battle Ground. Her application will also be forwarded to the GFWC Washington State Scholarship Committee for additional judging in the state competition.
