2020 Scholarship awarded to High School Senior

Outstanding scholar wins three times over

Hailey Hamilton, 2020 BGHS graduate, not only won the local GFWC club scholarshhip of $2,000, it was announced in April that she won two more scholarships from GFWC-Washington State for another $1,500. GFWC-Battle Ground had submitted her application to the GFWC-Washington State Scholarship Committee.

Hamilton plans to become a nurse after completing studies at Northwestern Univerity in Kirkland. She was chosen to receive these scholarships because of her academic standing, community service and forward thinking preparation toward her career by spending 60 hours to receive a CNA degree followed by employment at a senior living center.

Money for scholarships is generated from profits from the Ladybug Bazaar, the club’s major fundraiser. Only young women who enroll in Washington State institutions of higher learning are eligible for the club’s scholarships.
